The Darcy dress was unbelievable. I opened the box and my breath was taken, the dress was perfect, it even shipped with no wrinkles. I know I sent measurements, but you did such an amazing job, it fitted perfectly, nothing needed altering or adjusting in any way. The fabric was so beautiful and delicate. I was very frightened ordering my wedding dress online; there are so many horror stories out there and this was very important. But when I saw this dress made by Gill Linley I couldn’t imagine wearing anything else because nothing else compared to how beautiful it was. And when I learned that she had made a period costume for Maggie Smith, one of my favorite actresses, there was no way that I was going to buy my dress from anyone else. This was the style of dress that I had dreamed about getting married in and I couldn’t find anything else like it anywhere. Even though it’s simple, unlike a lot of more expensive dresses that you can find at wedding shops like Vera Wang of David’s Bridal, it’s made with gorgeous, sumptuous chiffon fabric that drips off of your body, making you feel like a queen. The corset is lined with soft fabric and it is very well made with rich thick fabric on the outside that’s perfectly tailored to fit. The back of this dress is just amazing, the corset laces up with a large silk ribbon that gives a dramatic, elegant look to the back of the dress.

The tailoring was another thing that I was afraid of, as I had to provide my measurements over the internet, but Gill ensured that I measured correctly, was very professional, and knew exactly what to do to make that dress look great on my body-type.

There were two points that I’d like to make for the next person that buys a dress from this wonderful woman, the first is that you absolutely must buy a dress no matter what, as it is everything that she describes it to be and more. You must be patient because a perfect custom tailored dress takes time to make (This was so hard for me because of how important is was, but it was SO worth it.) And you must make sure that you measure properly because none of this would have been possible had I not been 100% truthful about my measurements.

My dress arrived on time, in perfect shape and was more beautiful than I imagined it would be. During the wedding and after, people were commenting on how gorgeous and unique the dress was. I was told numerous times that I looked like royalty. I don’t think that had I bought a dress at one of those bridal shops that I would have felt even remotely as beautiful as I did in this dress.

The look of sheer admiration on my groom’s face and the tears in his eyes as he walked me to the alter were made possible because of awesome the tailoring skills that Gill Linley has; I am so over the moon happy with what she did for me, and I can’t thank her enough.
