Edwardian Steampunk Wedding Dress in shot silk and tartan silk.

This elegant period wedding dress consists of a fully boned corseted bodice with back lacing and a ruched skirt with a train.

Pictured in purple silk tafetta, shot with green which creates a wonderful two-tone effect.

The boned bodice has handmade tartan silk decoration on the front and the skirt has an elaboratley draped bustle with handmade decoration on each hitch.

The train can be hitched higher at the back to allow for dancing. A tafetta and tulle bustle petticoat is included.

This bride was scottish and wanted a steampunk element to her dress, so I designed her dress in the Edwardian style, and as all the men in the wedding party were wearing kilts in the family tartan I suggested using tartan as decoration on the dress. I tracked down some silk taffeta tartan in her clan and created decoration for the front of the bodice and where the skirt hitches at the back.

I also created a small steampunk style hat for the bride, and as she had a ‘thing’ about dragons I embroidered a tiny dragon on the back of the train.

The colour combinations for this Edwardian Steampunk Wedding Dress are endless.
